🏒 MRH IS BACK!
After weeks of construction, meetings, petitions, letters and an incredible amount of support from our community, we’re finally ready to shift the focus back to what this is all about — PLAYING HOCKEY!
The rink renovations are nearly complete, with just a few finishing touches remaining, and Miami Roller Hockey officially gets back to hockey September 5!
A NEW SURFACE — AND AN EVEN BIGGER ANNOUNCEMENT
The rink has undergone a major facelift, including resurfacing, fresh lines, painting and improvements throughout the facility.
And there’s even more to look forward to.
Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins recently announced that MRH will be receiving a shaded structure over the rink! 🙌
That project is now moving through the County process. We do not have a timetable yet, but we’ll continue sharing updates with the community as we learn more.
Based on guidance from Commissioner Higgins’ office, our community does NOT need to attend the September 3 County budget meeting.
Thank you to EVERYONE who was prepared to show up, signed the petition, attended our Town Hall, contacted the County, wrote letters or helped spread the word.
We are still collecting letters of support through Monday, August 31 before sending everything to Commissioner Higgins’ office as requested.

Here’s everything you need to know about the next few weeks at MRH.
🏒 SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 — WE’RE BACK!
Our first Saturday back will have something for both our Adult and Youth hockey communities.
🏆 ADULT LABOR DAY DRAFT TOURNAMENT (Morning until early afternoon)
We’re officially reopening the rink with our Labor Day Draft Tournament!
Players register individually for $50 per player, and captains will draft balanced teams on Tuesday.
🚨 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: MONDAY, AUGUST 31 AT MIDNIGHT

🆓 FREE HOCKEY DAY — 11:00 AM–1:00 PM
Never played hockey before? Come try it completely FREE!
There is no registration, no experience required and no cost. Just show up.
MRH will provide loaner equipment for players who need it along with instruction from our coaches and volunteers.
Current MRH youth players are also welcome to come skate, have some fun and help us introduce some new kids to the game!

🚨 FALL LEAGUE REGISTRATION CLOSES SEPTEMBER 6
Both our Adult and Youth Fall Seasons are now accepting registrations.
Sunday, September 6 is the FINAL DAY to register.
🏒 ADULT FALL LEAGUE
Gold, Silver and Rust are all returning this fall.
🥇 Gold begins — Tuesday, Sept. 15
🔩 Rust begins — Wednesday, Sept. 16
🥈 Silver begins — Thursday, Sept. 17
🧒 YOUTH FALL LEAGUE
Youth registration is also open, with our Fall Season Jamboree on Saturday, September 12.
We need all registered players at the Jamboree. Players will scrimmage while our coaches evaluate everyone and make any necessary adjustments to create the most balanced teams possible.

Come knock the rust off, get some hockey in and enjoy the newly resurfaced rink.
All skill levels are welcome.
👀 WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9 — NEW PLAYER EVALUATION SKATE
New to the MRH Adult League? We want to see you play!
We’ll hold a pickup/open hockey-style skate specifically for players who are new to MRH or our Adult League.
This gives us an opportunity to see our new players before rosters are finalized and helps us create the most balanced teams possible.
If you’re new and planning to play this season, please make every effort to attend.

🏒 SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13 — ADULT LEARN TO PLAY
Adult Learn to Play is returning on Sundays — and it isn't just for beginners.
Sessions include drills and skill development followed, when numbers allow, by pickup hockey/scrimmage.
Brand-new players are welcome, but we also encourage Rust and Silver players looking for extra reps or an opportunity to sharpen their skills to come out.

The last several weeks have been about fighting for this rink and its future.
The next several weeks are about filling it again.
Register. Come play. Bring your kids. Bring a friend. Try hockey for the first time. Come back if you haven’t played in a while.
We have a newly resurfaced rink, improvements throughout the facility, more improvements coming and an opportunity to build something pretty damn special at MRH.
